The Chennai Smart City Innovations Hackathon is a high-energy, continuous 36-hour sprint where programmers, hardware engineers, data scientists, and urban designers collaborate to build functional prototypes solving pressing urban challenges. Held at a top engineering campus in Chennai, this hackathon provides participants with real-world city datasets, IoT sensor kits, and cloud infrastructure APIs. The core tracks focus on building intelligent traffic flow forecasting tools, automated monsoon flood early warning systems, decentralized municipal solid waste tracking, and public safety data models. Teams will work non-stop under the mentorship of senior software engineers and urban administration officials. The final prototypes will be evaluated by an esteemed jury panel comprising technology executives, municipal authorities, and early-stage venture capitalists, offering a total prize pool along with incubation support for viable ideas.
