Retro to Metro - Tamil Jamming Chennai

Get ready to sing, dance, and celebrate the many colours of Tamil music at Retro to Metro - Tamil Jamming Chennai.

This is more than a regular concert. It is a crowd-powered Tamil sing-along experience where the audience becomes an important part of the show. A live band drives the music, lyrics appear on screen, and music lovers come together to sing their favourite songs as one giant chorus.

The musical journey moves across generations and styles. Travel from 60s classics to 2K hits, retro favourites to Gen-Z anthems, Raja to Anirudh, and folk kuthu to contemporary Western-influenced sounds. The event also celebrates memorable Tamil film music associated with different generations and popular stars.

With 100+ songs and a live-band setup, the evening is designed around participation rather than simply watching a performance. You can sing along to familiar lyrics, dance to energetic numbers, revisit songs that bring back memories, and discover a shared love for Tamil music with fellow attendees.

The event comes from Unherd, a multilingual sing-along and jamming community that has hosted shows across cities including Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad. Their format focuses on high energy, nostalgia, and audience participation.
